Josh Appel is a policy analyst at the Manhattan Institute, focusing on quality-of-life issues, countering radical ideologies, and strengthening the cultural and moral foundations of American life. His work explores how urban policy shapes daily life, the moral basis of free societies, and the role of cultural confidence in sustaining a flourishing future. A native and current resident of Queens, New York, he holds a B.A. in history from Yeshiva University, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a graduate of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), with a focus on law and philosophy. He is currently a Krauthammer Fellow at the Tikvah Fund. He has written for City Journal, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, RealClear Books, Law & Liberty, Commentary Magazine, and National Review Online.
