Allen Porter is a philosopher with wide-ranging interests. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Florida’s Hamilton Center, and he will assume the position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy in the Center for Arts and Letters at the University of Austin in July 2025. His research focuses on the philosophy of Martin Heidegger, phenomenology, and the history of philosophy, as well as contemporary politics, bioethics, and issues of transhumanism and posthumanism. He is currently editing a volume on Phenomenology and Posthumanisms for Springer Nature’s Philosophical Studies in Contemporary Culture book series.
